We had planned on making the most of the weekend and getting out and about – but goodness, we decided against that plan when the weather decided it should melt us all.  Oh boy, hasn’t it been hot?  I am not complaining, not one little bit.  I’m thankful that it is dry after the copious amounts of rain.   But unfortunately there are a few of us here that struggle with high heat and just want to stay indoors – so that’s largely what we did.

We had a weekend of family at home time.

During the day we collected eggs…

egg collecting

Spent time in the garden…

And watched films, made home-ed plans, worked on websites, drew pictures, read stories, made pancakes…

Spent time with our feathered friends…

And found visitors where they shouldn’t be…

As the daylight started to fade, we watered plants…

and as darkness fell, we watched the bats swooping and found more flighty friends…

The girls came inside and looked through our Butterflies and Moths book, and discovered that this one is a Ghost Moth.  Isn’t it beautiful?
